Wide Dog Collar – Personalized Leather Floral Collar for Large & Strong Dogs

This dark brown leather dog collar with soft blue floral accents was designed by my Instagram followers for Jessie, a sweet senior pit bull mix at the Kankakee Humane Foundation. You can see Jessie modeling this collar in the photos, and as of my last update, she was still waiting for her forever home.

The teal and white flowers really stand out against the rich brown leather. This collar makes a great summer option for girl dogs, especially on tan or gray coats like Jessie’s. Her coat changes in different lighting, and this color combination looks good in both sun and shade.

The collar shown is 1½″ wide, tapering down to a 1″ buckle. I like this width because it gives a thicker, substantial collar look while the tapered ends keep it comfortable under the neck for everyday wear.

HOW TO MEASURE YOUR DOG’S NECK FOR A CUSTOM FIT

OPTION 1: MEASURE YOUR DOG’S NECK
Use a flexible tape measure.
Wrap it around your dog’s neck where the collar will sit.
Measure with the snugness you prefer—some like it snug, others more like a necklace.
Record this measurement.

OPTION 2: MEASURE YOUR DOG’S CURRENT COLLAR
Lay a well-fitting collar flat.
Measure from the buckle pin to the hole your dog currently uses.
Record this measurement.

EDGES
Edges are cut and smoothed by hand for comfort. This helps prevent rubbing and makes the collar comfortable for daily wear.

HAND-STAMPED OR HAND-CARVED LETTERING
Some fonts are hand-stamped, others are hand-carved. Both are done by hand using traditional tools and create a permanent, lasting impression in the leather.

OPTIONAL PHONE NUMBER
An optional phone number can be added near the buckle. It’s easy to find if your dog gets loose and helps them get home faster.
